About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been running a private practice for over 15 years. I’m passionate about my work and find it a tremendous honor to work alongside my clients who have the courage to make changes in their life. My prior experience included working in community based mental health settings, substance abuse treatment and as a Lecturer at NYU and Brooklyn College.
I completed a 4 year Post Graduate Clinical Fellowship in Gestalt Therapy and have additional advanced training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a model for working with couples called Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and work with groups. In my practice I integrate a combination of approaches that are rooted in Psychodynamic, Relational, Attachment Theory, Mindfulness and Experiential Therapies.
I have a warm, curious, empathic style that is also direct and challenging. I help clients focus on processing emotions, developing insight and self-awareness, building strengths and self- compassion, and identifying belief systems that are supportive. I will work with you to understand how experiences from your past might influence your current life choices and how to identify and remove blocks and barriers that will allow you to live a life that is more fully aligned with your values.
In my practice, I work with a diverse population of individuals, couples and groups. I offer specializations in coping with trauma and to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and developing skills to improve relationships. My experience also includes working with ADHD, OCD, codependency, substance abuse, grief/loss and self- identity.
